Morgon, L’humeur vagabonde 2022

This wine seemes to capture the deceptively easy going, lighthearted nature of this cuvée, in which there is definitely something more going on underneath the surface with notes of red berries, maraschino cherry, almond and herbs hit the nose.

The 2020 vintage was the first and its biodynamically farmed grapes are sourced from several lieu-dit around the commune of Saint-Joseph above Villié Morgon. The vines are situated at one of the appellation’s higher altitudes meaning that cooler temps are a key factor in the freshness and acidity that balance out the rounder red and black berry aspects of the tasting profile.

After hand harvesting, the juice is fermented with wild yeast in a mix of stainless steel and old barrels. Along with minimal SO2 at bottling, what shines through is a pure and alive embodiment of the choice location these grapes come from and the attention to detail with which they were farmed.

SANDRINE HENRIOT : Originally from Burgundy, she took over a 3 ha Beaujolais vineyards in Régnié, Morgon and Beaujolais-Village in 2018. The parcels were worked organically since 2004 and biodynamically since 2010.
Her wines showcase intensity, framework, and complexity, yet they also boast remarkable succulence and airiness, rendering them exceptionally approachable and enjoyable.
