Les Sarres – Savagnin Ouillé

Originally from Jura, Cedric Mottet moved away to pursue music, eventually becoming a professional musician. Now, he’s back in Mesnay near Arbois, tending to just over 4 hectares of both older and younger vines. However, music still pulses within Cedric, evident in his winemaking style akin to his musical prowess—slightly unconventional yet rooted in skill and intentionality.
Much like a jazz or blues musician who incorporates blue notes for a unique sound, Cedric crafts his wines with a touch of jazziness, offering a distinct twist on traditional Juravines.
In the vineyard, Cedric follows his ecological principles and experiments with hybrid grapes to better withstand changing climate conditions. His wines tend to be rich, creamy, and full-bodied, with a pronounced mineral character. They are aged in old Bourgogne casks and demi-muids for up to two years.
