Andrea Calek deserted from the Czech Army in 1989 and lived a flattering life for a few years, until the meeting with especially the legendary wine farmer Guy Breton from Beaujolais got him into the wine track. After several jobs at different wine farmers, including Domaine Hauvette in Provence, which he helped to convert from ecology to biodynamics, he ended up in Ardèche, where he was given the opportunity to make wine on about five hectares of Gérald Oustric’s fields (Le Mazel).
