La Petite Cordillère 2023

Jérôme and Stéphane Bernatas, formerly successful working in the press, discovered their passion for winemaking later in life. They own seven hectares of vineyards across three communes near Limoux: La Digne d’Amont, Castelreng, and Magrie. In contrast to many local producers, they focus on crafting still wines from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Mauzac grapes. The brothers adhere to biodynamic principles in their vineyard practices, with sites like La Petite Cordillère, known for its steep slopes and breathtaking views of the Pyrenean foothills. What sets Bernatas wines apart in the region is their precision and freshness, a result of elevated vineyard locations and meticulous cellar techniques.

In the nose with vegetal notes, verbena, green tea. On the palate with citrus zest, clementine peel. Good tension and depth.
